We are Ryan and Lauri Bickel, as well as or children including any many children through our children's home ministry! We have been serving Christ in Costa Rica since 2006! Christ has led us to plant churches, lead Bible studies, help existing churches, youth camps, share the Gospel, work with Children’s homes as well as feed and care for hungry Ngäbe Indian children.

We began living and working in Costa Rica in April of 2006. In April of 2008 we began our first church in Cartago and continue with Bible studies there. On March 16, 2009 we began a children's home that has now cared for 108 children both short and long term! On June 26, 2011 God allowed us to start a new church in Tres Rios, Cartago. That church now has it's own national pastor and is self supporting!

September of 2013 God moved us to a totally different part of Costa Rica to begin working with the Ngäbe Indian people as well as Ticos. Due to the great need and lack of resources of the people, God laid it on our heart to begin a feeding ministry. Through this ministry several days a week the children can receive a hot meal, sing songs, receive a lesson and be loved!

In 2014 we began offering a place of refuge for these dear children as it is needed. Often these little ones are on the brink or starvation or even death from severe illness.  We want to be a safe haven where little lives can be saved.  This will not only allow the children to have a hope for the future but will give us the opportunity to work with the families so they may have a home for eternity!

About Us

God has expanded the ministries greatly since that time. Currently in addition to the feeding centers and children's refuge we also have started a new church, ministry to abused women & children, incorperated two additional buldings to the children's home and host teams and individuals from the states!

Matthew 25:35-40

For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

That sums up the work we are striving to do here in Costa Rica.  It's all about Christ and it is all for Him! We are blessed to be a part of the work He has called us to do and pray you will join us. The needs are great, His love goes beyond your front door and reaches unto the least of these.

We invite you to come and see! Come be a part of what Christ is doing. Come and share the gospel with those who are lost. Come show Christ's love and give a meal to a hungry child. You will be forever changed!
